Casa RW

Casa RW began with a life choice. The clients, an American couple with a deep connection to Salento, left the United States to settle in Nardò. They were looking for a home that could make what had drawn them here part of everyday life: the light, the climate and the way of living and inhabiting.

The project preserves the qualities that belong to the house. The opening in the living area is enlarged to create a more continuous sequence between the dining room, kitchen and living room.

The pale-grey kitchen, matching the walls, the timber furniture and the bathroom ceramics sit alongside terrazzo-effect surfaces chosen in keeping with the period of the house. In the large vaulted rooms, sculptural lamps and linear lighting give scale to the interiors and accompany the passage from one space to the next.

The terrace completes the house as an outdoor room, a place for cooking, eating and pausing. Here, the climate of Salento enters domestic life directly.
